Make Money With CPA Affiliate Networks
In one of my previous posts about working from home with affiliate marketing, I talked about how affiliate marketing is the easiest way to get started making money online.
This post is going to cover a way in which you can start generating money with affiliate marketing without having to actually sell anything. Interested? You should be. You can earn a decent amount of money from your web traffic by promoting CPA ads.
CPA stands for Cost Per Action. The way CPA ads work is that you promote a particular ad or ads that are related to the content and niche of your site. CPA ads can be found for practically any niche you’re in.
When someone comes to your site and sees a link to a product or service you’re promoting for a CPA network, and they click on the link, they’ll be taken to the owner’s site for that offer. Your affiliate ID will be included.
Here’s the best part. All that person has to do is take some sort of ACTION. This action doesn’t involve actually buying anything. If the person is interested in the offer and fills out a form to learn more, you automatically get credited for the sign-up. This earns you a set commission into your account for that CPA affiliate network.
The commission earned for each sign-up can range from $1 to $3. If a sale is generated, the commissions can be $20 all the way up to $60 or more, depending on the offer.
Here’s an example…
You’re promoting a survey site for a reputable company, and they’re paying $3 per lead. Someone comes to your site, sees the ad and clicks on the link. They go to the survey site and read over the offer. There’s a form that requests their name and email address so they can be sent further information (which is how leads are generated). They fill out the form, and you’re automatically credited with $3.
It’s that simple. You don’t have to sell anything at all. Although, the money you can earn is a lot more if you do make a sale on top a lead.
Here’s a tip: The shorter the form is, the more likely someone is going to fill it out. So, try to find offers that only have one or two lines for them to fill in. If you can’t, don’t worry, if it’s a good offer it may convert just as well. It all comes down to testing different offers.
Here are the two CPA Affiliate Networks that I use and earn money from:
I just want to note that getting approved for CPA affiliate networks can be a little tricky. If you decide to sign up for one of these and run into any problems, just let me know, and I’ll help you out.
Also, both of these companies have the option to be paid directly to your PayPal account, which is very nice.
Do you use CPA affiliate networks to earn money? What companies do you use? How are you doing with them? Share your comments below…

I just started the whole affiliate thing really. When I first opened my cash contest blog, I was told to go with gaming type offers from Max Bounty.
No earnings from them yet, but no real promotion of that blog yet either.
Aren’t these the types of offers that Google is cracking down on though? Adwords wise…

@Dennis Edell, When I had my video gaming site, I used Max Bounty’s gaming offers as well. I only generated one or two leads, but the site was new and only received mediocre traffic.
Google is cracking down on them, but through Adwords. They want to provide a positive user experience when people click on the ads. Apparently there have been too many complaints. You can still promote these types of offers, but you have to have a content rich page with a lot of useful information.
A lot of Adwords users have found all their campaigns being shut down, or they have their CPC jacked really high. It’s mainly happening to newbie PPC users, but not all.
I don’t mess with Adwords, so I’m not the best person to be giving advice about it. That’s just what I’ve read on various forums.

@Alan Mater,
Good to hear, PPC ain’t my bag either. Although I may dive in once that physical product e-commerce site is up and running. Great for quick sales from what I understand.

@Dennis Edell, You’re right, and that’s why most people promote them because they offer some quick revenue without actually having to sell something.

@Glass Beads, I heard pepperjam was pretty good. I’m not a member, though.
They weren’t a hassle for me, but I live in the U.S. They may require paperwork for non-U.S. registrations. I don’t really know. Let me know if they do.

@Alan Mater,
This answers my confusion I think. I read this and said, fax? I never had to fax to PJ either…

@Dennis Edell, I see this a lot, where companies require extra documentation for non-U.S. registrations. It’s to help protect them and also to confirm that the people are who they say they are. Nonetheless, it can be a pain for the person signing up. I’ve heard plenty of different stories.

Promoting CPA offers for me has been one of my best ways to earn money online. I think this works great for me because I find it easier to convince someone to take a free trial or submit their name and e-mail, rather than actually trying to get them to purchase a product. While the payout per conversion might be lower with free offers, conversion rates are usually much higher so this offsets the difference. While pay per sale offers from Clickbank might be a temptation for new marketers, I would strongly suggest starting with promoting free offers, and after gaining internet and affiliate marketing experience, then move to paid offers.

@Michael,
Thanks for the input, Michael. I agree, CPA is a great way to get started with affiliate marketing, and I recommend it as a way to start earning some money with your blog or site without having to sell anything.
Thanks again, and I hope to see you around.

@neil@online reporting,
I know it can be difficult for some to get approved with various companies. Just willing to help any way I can.
My favorite CPA companies right now are these two:

Cool, if I wanted to start paying affiliate marketers on a CPA basis which agregator would be best to sign up with?

@Alan Maddick @ Bookkeepers,
That’s a little beyond my scope as I’ve never done or even looked into anything like that. I imagine a quick Google search should yield some options for you.
Best of luck to you, Alan, and thanks for the comment.

Hi Alan, nice in-depth insights up there, really loved reading it. I have always been building adsense niche sites and it is working quite well for me. My AdSense niche sites make a good income each month. But now I am thinking to give CPA Ads a shot and see how it works for me. Any special tips you have for me?

@Jawed@online advertising,
Thanks for the question, Jawed. What I would recommend doing is sign-up with one or two CPA networks that provide offers relevant to your sites. Once approved, ad one or two offers into your sites, testing locations and offers to see what brings in the most revenue.

I don’t know if I can qualify at a CPA site. I just have a one-page site that promotes my own income club and where I display various affiliate links (to free offers). I have a pending application at Unoleads though. Wonder what they’ll do with it.

@Ronaldo Galang,
Some are more difficult to get into than others. If you know someone who is already a member for a particular site, ask to use them as a reference.
