Alot of heartache can be avoided by really gettin down to the nuts and bolts in the contract signing stage and finding out what management fees are payable e.g. fixed monthly, percentage of turnover, etc. These should be set in the contract but its important to have a lawyer check them over so you really know what rights you have and what the franchisor might be able to change that could have implications on your future income. Fortunately, the vast majority of franchises actually want you to succeed!
