Creating a successful online business requires work, patience and positive thinking. You may even find yourself getting help from mentors that will guide you on the right path.

However, no matter how much help you receive, and no matter how much you learn, you can still fail. I’m not trying to scare you, but the statistics don’t lie. Most people never reach success because they end up giving up too early. They either underestimated the amount of work required, just got tired of it or got too far in over their heads. And then some quit due to financial restrictions.

In my previous post, I briefly mentioned about the importance of having a mentor or group of mentors that can guide you on the path to online business success. One of my loyal blog readers, Dennis Edell, pointed out that all successful people (especially the top 1%) have a mentor. Well, I don’t know that I’d consider myself successful (financial wise), nor am I in the top 1%, but I do have a group of mentors that have helped me out tremendously in learning affiliate marketing.

The reason for this post is to introduce you to the group of mentors I’ve had the privilege of working with. What’s unique, I believe, is that they’ve been open to helping ANYONE who is either new to affiliate marketing, struggling to make money, or looking to take their online business to the next level. For whatever reason, I didn’t participate in last year’s contest. This year, however, I decided it would be a good idea for me to participate as it can only help my work from home business. Getting motivated and staying focused on daily tasks can be hard, so this contest is a way to keep me on track with what I need to do.

The PPG marketing contest runs for 6 weeks, and this is day 2 of the contest. So far I’ve been able to manage to meet the requirements for yesterday, and I’m on a good track to meet them for today.

Remember, the worst thing you can do is give up. I know it’s hard when you’re first starting out. I’ve been there. Information overload kicks in, and you don’t know where to start or what to do next. Take it slow and at your own pace.

One way to make money online is through niche marketing. Niche marketing is simply finding a profitable market and narrowing in on a specific area (niche) within that market and making money from it. The way to do this is by setting up a website related to that niche, driving traffic to that site and selling products or services to create revenue from the site.

Another alternative if you don’t have any of your own products or services to provide is to sell products as an affiliate. This is called niche affiliate marketing. Both methods can be very profitable.

You can earn money with niche marketing through products/services, Google Adsense, Cost Per Action (CPA) campaigns, etc.

Niche marketing seems easy enough, but there are many variables involved, and a lot of research needs to be done before you decide to target a specific niche. There is a lot of information freely available to assist those looking to go into niche marketing and earning money as an affiliate. It will take some time to find and sift through the information that you find.

Another alternative is to find a group of mentors that are already successful with making money online with niche marketing. I’m blessed to have a group of mentors that I personally work with that have established reputable reputations online as being successful online business owners. Don’t be fooled into thinking that success will happen overnight. There are too many people that are scammed into thinking that a work from home business will make you rich overnight without any effort. Don’t be naive in thinking this way.

Another problem is that there is too much hype when it comes to online businesses. Do your research, and don’t buy into the success of others. It takes a lot to be successful, regardless of what people tell you. The successful ones have labored many hours over their work from home business and have experienced the success and failures that are associated with it.

Do your part and learn as much as you can. Knowledge is your friend. Put what you learn into practice and build a solid foundation for your online business. You can never learn too much, and when it comes to running a successful online business, you will be grateful for every bit of information and advice you can get. Besides, the internet is changing, so there will always be new things to learn. You must be willing to change for the sake of your work from home business.

You must be patient with your online business. It’s often said that a business is a marathon, not a sprint. That couldn’t be more true. You must be diligent and continually work your online business every day. As time progresses, you will see results.

Don’t set unrealistic goals for yourself and your work from home business. Don’t expect to see results within a certain time frame. If you don’t get the results you were expecting, you could get frustrated and quit. You must allow time for your online business to grow. Keep in mind that success is equal to the amount of effort you put into your work from home business.

One of the smartest things I did was get a group of mentors that were willing to help me. Don’t be afraid to seek help and guidance with your work from home online business. The more help, the better. You need proper guidance and training.
