My goal for this year is to branch out into video marketing, as well as continue my content marketing strategy. I will convert all articles written for the site into videos and distribute them via a newly made YouTube Channel. I will have more on this later on in a separate post.

Total Gross Earnings for Year 2011

This section is new and will be continued every January, highlighting the previous year’s earnings. Last year saw a lot of growth, and I look forward to see how this year improves and moves upwards even more.

My online business as a whole brought in a total of: $7,273.24. That’s gross, non-taxed income all earned completely online in 2011. My goal for this new year is to double that amount, at the least. Let’s see if I can do it!

Google Adsense Record

I felt this was worth mentioning. As you may have noticed, I made $81.72 in Adsense last month from this site and blog. That’s a record high in Adsense income, ever. I’m pretty excited about that. I used to have Adsense ads on the site and made on average, maybe $20 – $35, nothing to brag about.

But, almost triple that in one month, and I can see the light. Still nothing huge, but making progress for sure. I’ll write a detailed post about my findings and new insights about Adsense a little later, so stay tuned for that. I know a lot of you haggle me about Adsense and ask why it’s always so low. My upcoming post will explain that and what you can expect for future earnings.

So far, no Adsense or Clickbank income yet for the site. I have been focusing on building links and getting content posted to the site, but it’s been a slow process as I’ve been on time constraints. Regardless, this should help elevate the amount of visitors the site is getting to a decent enough level to start generating some clicks, and hopefully a few sales.

Around 6 months ago I was contacted and asked if I would be interested in promoting some offers through TBTrack.com. Before this, I had never heard of this CPA network before. After emailing the manager back and forth and getting more information, I decided to give it a try and see how well the offers would perform.

The offers were completely relevant to the site, so all I had to do was get the links up in a prominent location on the site and wait for clicks to come in.

If you’re not familiar with what CPA networks are, I recommend taking a look at an older post I wrote about making money with CPA networks.

After a few months of promoting the TBTrack.com offers, I made a little bit of money. Not much, but it was a start. Then, I made a little more. You may have noticed this income stream popping up here and there on my income reports.

I didn’t make much, but I was getting leads, as I do with the many other offers I promote via CPA networks. The next step was to test link location and different offers that were available.

However…

Just recently I received an email from one of the managers at TBTrack with some very interesting news. Here’s what the email had to say:

Alan,

It has come to our attention that you’re creating fraudulent leads to
earn money using your TB Track account. This is something that we
absolutely do not tolerate. From this point on, your TB Track account no
longer exists, and you will receive no payout.

Needless to say, this really got under my skin. I wasn’t concerned about not receiving any payout, as I didn’t make much at all. What really bothered me the most was being accused of creating “fraudulent leads”. Not only that, but they never provided any proof to back up these allegations, nor offered any type of warning beforehand.

Now, if you know me even just a little, you’ll know that I would never willingly create fraudulent leads for any reason. That’s just not the way I am. Heck, I wouldn’t even know how to go about doing such a thing, anyway!

Even though I was fuming and reading to unload, I kept my cool and responded to the email in a professional manner. Not to my surprise, I have yet to receive a response, and they have not provided any evidence to back up their claims.

Sound familiar? Sounds like similar happenings going on over at Google and them terminating people’s Adsense account for fraudulent clicks, so they claim.

Here’s the funny thing. I have an Adsense account, and have been actively using Adsense for over 6 years. My account is still in good standing because I follow the rules. If I was someone who was creating fraudulent leads for a barely-known CPA network, wouldn’t you think I would have done the same with Adsense, trying to make money off of fraudulent clicks? Maybe not, but I can’t help but throw the question out there. My point is, it just doesn’t make sense.

My goal here is to warn you with the possibility that this could happen to you and make you aware that TBTrack.com is a CPA network (by invitation only, I believe). Just like Google and their Adsense program, TB Track apparently can and will shut down your account for reasons they will not explain and divulge in detail.

I’m not saying you should avoid TB Track altogether, but if you do decide to give them a try, be warned you may want to use an additional income stream in case they decide to terminate your account without notice, just as they did with me.

With that said, I am involved with other CPA networks and have been in good standing with them for years (take note, TB Track). I highly recommend getting into this arena if you’re looking to make some extra income from your site.

Combined, this should elevate the amount of visitors the site is getting to a decent enough level to start generating some clicks, and hopefully a few sales.

I’ll keep you updated as things progress. Believe it or not (I can’t), the site is almost a year old. I JUST renewed the domain for another year as it expires in November. I’m hopeful that I can start pumping some income out of this site, and I look forward to sharing my experiences about the site with you all.

If you’re at home all day after you drop the kids off at school, why not try earning a little money on the side by gaining some valuable skills and putting them to use. If you’re a creative person, a good way to earn some extra money at home is by learning some expert Photoshop skills and selling your talents not only to friends and family, but also over the internet as a freelancer. If you get really good, you might even be able to open your own business.

Photoshop Skills

Photoshop is a very powerful program that has a lot of great features for mending or restoring photographs, removing blemishes, or creating compelling graphics for websites, but it is also very complicated to use. Photoshop is one of those programs that takes real skill to use well, and if you want to earn money by using Photoshop, you should look into to taking a class from a local community college or adult education program. Believe me, the small amount of money it takes to pay for the class will really pay off in the end. Buying the actual program (usually over $600) is a little pricey, but it will pay for itself once you start using your skills to bring in some good money.

Business Ideas

Below I’ll cover 3 different ways that you can make money using Photoshop. All it takes is a desire to learn a new skill-set, and you’ll be well on your way to working from home doing something you enjoy. You may just be surprised at how many people are looking for people that have these skills.

Photo Editing and Restoring

Most people are not professional photographers, and to get the perfect shot they’ll often need photo-editing services. From removing blemishes to creating unique lighting and coloring schemes, you can earn some great cash. In addition, once you learn the tricks to efficiently using Photoshop, you can help people restore old photos. Photo editing and restoration can bring in $40 – $100 per photo, depending on the size and difficulty.

Graphic Design

Although the workforce is shrinking, the amount of work that needs to be done is not, so as employers let their full-time staff go, they turn to freelancers to help them get the job done. One of the biggest freelance opportunities on the internet today is graphic design for websites. A lot of e-freelancing sites are hiring thousands of freelance graphic designers and Photoshop experts every month, and you could be among them if you take the time to learn the skills necessary to be a great graphic designer with Photoshop. Entry-level graphic designers earn $15/hr or more, and the price goes up the more experience you have.

T-Shirt Design

There is a huge market out there of parents and grandparents who want their child or grandchild’s picture on a t-shirt. With your newly acquired Photoshop skills, you can help transform their dreams into reality working with a local t-shirt printer. But, beyond kids’ pictures, there is a large market for t-shirt design for school sports teams, clubs, conventions, and a lot more.

Learning the ins, outs, tricks, and shortcuts of Photoshop is not easy. It will take some practice and patience, but the payoff could be huge if you can freelance your skills or start your own business.
