Article Marketing: Making Your Efforts Count

Copyright © Alan Mater
http://www.ReplaceYourSalary.com

Article marketing is a great technique to drive traffic to your site. It isn't ethically or morally wrong compared to some marketing techniques known as "black hat" marketing. In fact, search engines love new content. Writing high-quality articles on a consistent basis is the best way to get free traffic, and thousands of websites are always looking for unique content.

The main concept behind article marketing consists of placing a link to your homepage within the article resource box. A lot of people fail to realize that having just a link to your homepage is not enough. In order for your marketing efforts to be effective, writing articles must be part of an "on page optimization" strategy that is geared towards specific keyword phrases.

I'm sure you've heard the term "keyword phrase" before. Choosing targeted, low competition keyword phrases is essential when it comes to article marketing. You must choose relevant keywords and then optimize your homepage using those keyword phrases. Once you have completed this step, writing articles will boost your marketing efforts and your search engine ranking.

As I stated earlier, it is important to place a link to your homepage in the resource box section of the article. However, there is a proper way to do this to be effective. Many people think that if they put http://www.SomeWebsiteName.com they are helping their rankings. While this won't any, it is much more important if you use an anchor text link instead.

I will give you an example of what an anchor text link is. You have a certain keyword phrase that you want your website to rank well for in the search engines. What you want to do is make that keyword phrase a hyperlink that links to the homepage of your website. An example would be <~a href="http://www.SomeWebsiteName.com">Your Keyword Phrase Here<~/a>. Just make sure you delete the "~". Now your keyword phrase text is anchored as a link to your website.

This will definitely boost your search engine rankings for your keywords. The more links you have out there for a specific keyword, the higher your rankings will go and the more traffic you will receive. People who promote article marketing as a quick way to generate traffic and get search engine rankings don't understand the concept behind using an anchor text link. Instead, they only link to their website like the first example. You don't want that to be you. You want to make sure you utilize the full potential that their articles have and create long term results for your efforts.

Do you post articles on your blog? You should, but be certain that it's not the exact same version you submit to article directories. You will severely damage your article campaign and effectiveness. You don’t want duplicate content posted on your blog. Change your article by at least 30% to be safe, more if possible. Don't forget the anchor text link for your blog posts, and use your keywords as tags.

Write targeted articles that are as niche specific as possible. Article marketing should be based upon you wanting to help your audience, or target market. Give your best effort because this will yield better results for you in the long run. Don't forget to keep your audience in mind. Write as though you were actually talking to someone. Be sincere and personal, and people will respect you for it.

New Breakthrough "Forced Money" System Just Released!

There's a "new" kind of website these days - one that "FORCES"
MONEY into your pocket!

The days are now over where you were left with just "chance" on
your side when it came to making MONEY on the Internet.

A brand new "technology" has been developed that makes websites pay you by "FORCE!"

Short of putting a gun to people's heads and making them take their
money out of their wallets and pay you without choice, this new
technology might as well be the exact same thing.

This breakthrough was developed by a New York Virtual Marketing
Firm, and is taking the Web by storm!

Already some pretty famous names are taking note of this new "MONEY making invention" that "forces" MONEY out of the Internet directly into your bank account!

A spokesperson for the NYC firm boasted proudly:

"Imagine the Worldwide-Web as an ocean of MONEY ... our new
technology merely makes a way for YOU to be able to dig a big
trench from that 'cash-sea' directly into your backyard!"

And that's obviously a pretty amazing feat to say the very least!

People get a webpage that's NOT ordinary by any means!

The webpage "captures" a huge segment of the daily visitors it
receives and winds up upselling them repeatedly with a predictable
conversion each and every time!

Plus, the webpage has a "built-in" device that allows it to
generate "free traffic" without end!

So considering the fact that you get free traffic, along with a
predictable and steady stream of sales conversions, you get a
guaranteed source of endless income!

Additionally, the webpage you get already contains a PROVEN digital
product that no online marketer can live without, and one that is
delivered where all your orders are filled automatically by another
firm on behalf of you, the webpage owner! (*And all at no costs!)

Not only that, but the webpage contains a video that makes further
an irresistible offer so that people must surrender their contact
information, and which also becomes a VAST double-optin list!

This list is maintained by yet another separate online firm on your
behalf, and that has the HIGHEST track record for getting over 98%
deliverability for follow-up emailings (the same that convert
another 378% more sales for you!)

So in a nutshell you get:

o An amazing website!
o A website that converts sales automatically!
o A website that puts "forced" money directly into your
pocket!
o A website that's run by another firm for you (at N0 charge!)
o A website that continues to promote for you over & over!
o A website that grows & cultivates a proven list!
o A website that functions automatically (so you never run
it!)
o And a website that you get Free HOSTING for!

So as you can easily see you get the whole "Sha-Bang!"

Here are just a few examples of the successes people are having
using this "Forced Money" breakthrough system:

---> "Lisa C." Got $44,047 In Just 97 Days

---> "Jay R." Got $102,033 In Just 32 Days

---> "Cal W." Got $317,951 In Just 17 Days

Without wasting another moment of your time, why not go to the new site that shows you how you can get this site for yourself (if you'd like) for next to nothing? ...

~~~> http://www.replaceyoursalary.com/forced-money.html
*But I must warn you that they are only giving away a very limited
number of these "forced money" websites that forcibly pour money
into your pocket! - So please [for your sake] HURRY!
Review Of Derek Gehl's "Search Marketing Labs"
"Attract Stampedes of FREE Traffic From Google When You Hire An SEO Expert... For Just $3.95!"
Attracting crowds of qualified buyers with a top ranking in Google, Yahoo, and MSN just got a whole lot easier... and cheaper.
The term "search engine optimization" used to be synonymous with difficult and expensive. Not any more.
Because thanks to Derek Gehl's latest release, you do NOT need to be intimidated by terms like "keyword density" and "optimization" anymore. And you certainly don't need to outsource your search engine traffic campaigns to third-party experts for exorbitant fees of $3,000-$10,000!
Instead, you can finally "do it yourself" and enjoy substantial increases in your traffic and sales with the expert guidance of your very own, private SEO consultant...
... Who will help blast your website to a top listing in Google, Yahoo, and MSN!
All for the ridiculously low investment of just $3.95.
There's absolutely no guesswork.
First, Derek gives you a series of online videos that walk you through the baby step basics of getting your website search engine ready.
Then, using the same clear, no-BS teaching style, you'll be shown how to apply the very same advanced SEO strategies that Derek and his team have used to secure a Top 5 ranking in Google for 3 years running...
... And beat out over 294 Million competitors including many multi-million dollar corporations!
And then, just in case you need some extra hand-holding, you'll have unlimited access to Derek's very own in-house SEO expert in a secret discussion forum, where you can ask unlimited questions about your specific search engine campaign!
This alone is EASILY a $1500-$3000 value -- but Derek's giving you unlimited access to his private SEO expert for the next 30 days for just $3.95.
To get all the details, visit http://www.replaceyoursalary.com/imc/searchmarketinglab
When Derek first launched his "Search Marketing Lab" approximately one year ago, I didn't pay much attention.
My mistake.
Because today, he's got testimonials lined up around the block -- all regular people who started with ZERO or mediocre traffic, who attract 5,000 to 40,000+ visitors every month using these secrets.
The majority of SEO books, courses, and seminars you'll find out there are a waste of money, not worth the paper they're printed on, because they're not kept up-to-date.
But since "Search Marketing Lab" gives you the same SEO strategies that Derek's currently using on his own site (www.marketingtips.com), which is reported to attract over 1.8 Million visitors every month, you can be sure you'll be the first to know when there's a major search engine change…
... And the first to PROFIT from Derek's hard won SEO research, newest optimization techniques, and late-breaking developments.
I recommend very few SEO resources to my clients. But this tops my list.
And the $3.95 Trial that Derek is giving away right now is a steal. To get yours before he shuts it down...
Article Marketing: A One Way Link Building Strategy
Copyright © Alan Mater
http://www.ReplaceYourSalary.com
Article marketing is a form of advertising where you write interesting and informative articles on a specific niche and submit them to popular article directories, ezines and newsletters in order to brand your name, product and/or service. It is a very cost-effective method of marketing your website and services/products, increasing your search engine ranking and is perfect for providing original content for the thousands of websites that are looking for it. It provides quality exposure for your site, helps to establish its credibility amongst heavy competition and is probably the most effective one way link building strategy.
Article marketing has several benefits, which include establishing yourself as an expert in your niche, lead generation, increased site traffic and a boost in the search engine rankings. It has become increasingly popular among internet marketers as a marketing method to get exposure for their websites. It is a perfect form of one way link building for your website on the full range of your most important search phrases and keywords. It will help you increase your link popularity, search engine positioning for your keywords and phrases, helps you reach more potential customers for your products or services and is a tremendous way to generate traffic to your site.
Article marketing does work. There is fear among many internet marketers about placing duplicate content on their site. If you write an article be sure to post a slightly different version of your article on your blog. Change the article by at least 30%. Then submit the other version of your article to article directories. Also, I would recommend changing the "about the author" section for each article you send out to the directories, using a different keyword in each one. You want your incoming links to look as natural as possible. The search engines will usually only rank one version of the same article, so vary your articles and change the keywords in the resource box for each version. If the search engines find hundreds of duplicates of the exact same articles you will most likely not get credit for the links and this will severely limit the impact of your article marketing.
Writing articles in a poor manner is far more damaging then if you didn't use the technique at all. The high popularity of marketing with articles has caused a great reduction in the quality of articles in many subjects. This is due to the fact that some individuals write low-quality articles as a quick one way link building strategy just to get their website free exposure. You do no want this to be you. While gaining backlinks is important, efficient use of writing articles requires a lot of time and effort on your part to write high-quality and relevant articles. Also keep in mind that a good word count for your articles is around 500-700 words in length.
Article marketing is a very hot topic in the internet marketing community and for good reason because it has consistently proven itself as a very effective marketing strategy and shows no signs of becoming stale. You many not consider yourself to be a "writer", but you will have to figure out a way to produce quality articles on a consistent basis if you plan on using article marketing as one of your marketing and one way link building strategies. You could even hire a "ghost writer" to write your articles for you. Just make sure you own the rights to the articles and they are in fact unique, and you will do well in your efforts.
Email Marketing Success: How To Achieve It
Copyright © Alan Mater
http://www.ReplaceYourSalary.com
Sending out a promotional email to a large list of subscribers that are not yours can be a waste of time and money. This can be considered spam as well and is not good practice. You can be booted off your internet service provider (ISP) and have your reputation ruined. Yes, there are safelists that you can mail to, but for the most part that is a waste of time as well. Email marketing success is best achieved by build up your own subscriber base.
Email marketing is an integral part of your marketing plan and can bring in tons of business. If done wrong it can bring in tons of complaints and will hurt your repuation. Give your subscribers a benefit, or offer them a free gift, and not just advertise to them. Use promotional email as a form of target advertising, sending email filled with information and resources that your subscribers will be interested in receiving. Even if they don't read each and every email you send them, they will be far less likely to put your emails in the trashcan list. Remember, they chose to sign up to your list. Use that to your advantage. Email marketing success relies upon building a relationship with your subscribers. Over time they will trust you, and eventually buy from you.
If your business is broken up into different segments, consider using a separate email list for each one. If you offer products and services, there should be different email addresses for each one. Sending promotional emails to everyone will only serve to aggravate people who get information that they don't want to receive, or did not sign up for. If you promote a specific product or service it is wise to setup a new campaign and build a list just for that. Or, if you are giving something away for free to build your list, you could then use your main list building campaign and add that product to the list of freebies that can be downloaded once they confirm their request. Giving something away for free is a terrific way to build your list and will ensure email marketing success.
When sending out emails, choose your subject line carefully. Most people scan the subject to see what the email is about before opening it up. The first 20 to 30 words must grab your readers' attention to draw them into the rest of the email. If not, they will ignore the rest and may not see a link to a product or service you are promoting. The subject should be enticing, but truthful, and must pertain to the email. If they get an email with the subject stating they can download a new free report, but the email doesn't contain a download link, your subscribers will get upset. Honesty is the best policy, especially when it comes to your email marketing success. You want your subscribers to trust you and buy from you. Be honest with them and give them something enjoyable to read and they will be long-term subscribers.
A promotional email will only be effective if the information you are sending is of interest to the recipient. It is recommended that you create follow-up messages for your campaign and send out at least one message every two days. Do not send the same emails every week or you will lose your subscribers. It will appear as if you have nothing new and exciting to share and will be a waste of their time. Keep your messages simple, and most importantly honest. Your recipients will have the choice whether they want to stay on your list. It is your responsibility to provide relevant information so that they have a reason to stay.
Copyright © Alan Mater
http://www.ReplaceYourSalary.com
Social bookmarking is quickly becoming one of the many popular aspects of web 2.0. It is a very effective way for web surfers to find the latest information and news on any subject they want. Social bookmarking sites use viral marketing and popular opinion and have the capability of discovering what is important before any search engines can spider the site and rank it amongst the thousands of sites out there on the internet. It is now a crucial part of any business’ online presence and is a source of traffic for your site that should not be ignored.
Social bookmarking is a powerful tool in promoting any website and may just be the best way to boost traffic. Webmasters can easily display a variety of bookmarking buttons on their webpages, and the surfer can then bookmark the site or specific page. One little click on the button that is being displayed and the surfer will be taken to their favorite bookmarking account. Multiple social bookmarking sites can be combined into one button to make it easier for the surfer, and no work is required by the webmaster.
Optimizing web pages for Google and all the other major search engines is not enough anymore. The only way to be successful at online marketing is to include the online community. A webmaster's marketing efforts should not ignore the effectiveness of web 2.0 sites. Social bookmarking can help get a website out there on 47 of the best social bookmarking sites in under 15 minutes. The more people that bookmark a site, the more organic traffic it will get, as well as backlinks which will give it authority in Google. Now keep in mind that social bookmarking alone will not give a site a top search engine ranking, but the marketing efforts will not be hurt by it.
If you are going to try to reach the social bookmarking audience, make sure you include Digg on your webpages because the audience is so large. Digg is a high power authority and a listing will rank highly on Google and other search engines. Searchles is loved by Google, Yahoo and the other major search engines. StartAid bookmark pages rank highly in Google and other search engines as well. Getting your site listed in Furl will lead to traffic from organic rankings and its popular page drives traffic. Best of all, StumbleUpon can send major traffic with its user base of around 3 million and currently brings in more traffic than any other social bookmarking site. A great place to find a button to add all of these services to your site is www.addthis.com and is free.
Free exposure and advertising is always going to be the best alternative for the webmaster, and social bookmarking services like these as well as other web 2.0 sites are great ways to get free traffic. This isn’t only good for building backlinks, but people search on bookmark sites to find information, and could eventually find your site. Do not ignore the major bookmarking sites, or you are ignoring some of your potential subscribers or customers.
If your top priority is getting repeat traffic, then you must make it easy for your visitors to add your webpages or site to their social bookmarking services. Word-of-mouth advertising is often overlooked, but this can drive a lot of traffic to your website and create buzz. Web 2.0 sites like bookmarking services get millions of hits a day, so it would be smart for you to start utilizing them on your site.
Social Bookmarking: What is it?
Copyright © Alan Mater
http://www.ReplaceYourSalary.com
Social bookmarking is a means of storing people's bookmarks online, tagging them, and sharing them online with other users. Social bookmarks are a way for internet users to store, organize, search, share and manage web pages on the internet that they find interesting. They replace the traditional method of adding a site to the favorites or bookmarks of a browser-based system of folders. Instead, users are encouraged to organize their bookmarks by using tags to describe the site that they bookmark.
Users from all over the world bookmark sites or specific pages using their favorite social bookmarks. They can search through their bookmarks by tags, and can access their bookmarks from any internet connection worldwide. Pretty much all social bookmark sites have the same basic features like browser bookmarklets or "widgets" for one-click link saving, RSS feeds, tags and sharing capabilities.
In a bookmarking system, users save links to web pages they want to remember or share by the use of RSS feeds. These bookmarks can then be organized into a list of tags that describes the site in some way. People are always searching for information on the internet. The search function is probably the most important application on the web for surfers to find what they are looking for. Search engines give more relevancy to sites that have been recently changed or have added new content.
This is where social bookmarks are one step ahead of the game, notifying users when a site has been updated through the RSS feeds. Instead of searching for something in a search engine, users can quickly narrow down the items to what they are looking for by searching the tags. They can even search through what other people have bookmarked as long as they remain public. So, what started out as a way to send bookmarks to friends has really grown into social search engines.
Social bookmark sites allow users to see other people's bookmarks and comment about them, creating interactivity among bookmark users. Social bookmarking is all about the collective voice and the power of the people. As these services have matured and grown more popular, they extra features have been added such as ratings and comments on bookmarks, the ability to import and export bookmarks from browsers, emailing of bookmarks, web annotation, and groups or other social network features. A social bookmarking system can rank a resource, or website, based on how many times it has been bookmarked by users. Conventional search engines mainly rank websites based on the number of external links pointing to it.
Social technologies are definitely here to stay, and are becoming very popular. Social bookmarks as well as other social network sites continue to be one of the driving forces of this evolving web. It is all about labeling the web, making it easier to find content that people are looking for by passing on what they have found to others. For users, social bookmark sites can be a useful way to access a consolidated set of bookmarks from various computers, organize large numbers of bookmarks, and share bookmarks with contacts. Social bookmarking allows users to share the sites that they own to others with relevant tastes, driving traffic to their site, and creating valuable backlinks.
Social Network Sites Can Drive a Flood of Traffic to Your Site
Copyright © Alan Mater
http://www.ReplaceYourSalary.com
Not long ago the internet was full of websites that had no interaction with each other. Nothing was connecting them together, even if they had the same goals and ideas. Webmasters and website owners did not gather together in one central place on the web to collaborate with each other, other than forums. Today, a new age of internet is here, and social network sites are popping up everywhere. It is now common to have online communities where thousands of website owners gather together to share ideas, meet new people, and network with others like never before.
Forums have been around for a long time, allowing people to ask questions and get answers, and interact with others. Forums are still pretty much the same today as they were back then. Forums were the beginning of a growing interaction between fellow internet users and like minds. They gave them a place of belonging where they could share opinions and express themselves and get feedback from others. But still, something was missing.
Forums were only a small piece of the pie compared to the type of networking that would drive thousands upon thousands of users to gather together. Someone saw the need to create social networking web sites where users would be able to share more about themselves in a visual way, and not just a picture and a few short sentences about themselves.
In the United States, the most commonly used social network sites are MySpace, Facebook, Squidoo, and Bebo, while other countries may prefer a different outlet, like Asia's Friendster or Germany's Hi5. The power of social networking web sites should not be underestimated. In fact, social network sites are some of the most visited sites on the internet. Social networking allows people to interact with each other by the use of forums, instant messaging, videos, pictures, and more. Users are able to post a profile that contains information about themselves, pictures they want to share, videos that they find interesting, games, etc. Users can send friend or contact requests for others to add them to their list. People can post bulletins, send instant messages, tag other people's pictures to their profile, interact through forums and much more.
Aside from the personal power of social networking web sites, they are becoming of great value to the online marketer, as well as the brick and mortar store. This is a somewhat new occurrence that is just now beginning to appear more ordinary. This is what many refer to as web 2.0.
The best part about social network sites is that you have the ability to post ads on your profile. This can be used to promote your business, affiliate programs and whatever else you want. Bulletins and messaging and also forums can be used to market your business. The more friends or contacts you build and network with, the more people you have to market your business opportunity or affiliate program. There is so much untapped traffic potential with these kinds of sites. Bottom line... if you're not using social networking web sites to drive traffic to your website, you should be.
