You would be surprised what people will do to get in the coveted top 10 in Google. Some strategies are simply evil, while others are legitimate but on the edge of moral retribution. Therefore, how do you increase your page rank and get a top 10 listing in Google and other major search engines without risking your name, reputation and business? This article details the best way to get back links to your site, and more importantly, one way links.

First of all, before I dive into the details, I must emphasize the importance of optimizing your website for the search engines. If you think that this doesn’t concern you, you are totally wrong! Without the optimization of your pages for search engines, your website will fail. Nothing else I explain here will help you if you don’t optimize your website.

Okay, let’s continue. A commonly used marketing tactic, and a very effective method, is article marketing. It is the easiest way I know how to get your site on the top 10 in Google, if not the first position, and simultaneously increase your page rank. I have done this myself, just by writing and submitting articles. Search Google for "honest online income." At the time of writing, my site is currently rated number two on the first page. I am not a professional writer, so if I can do it, so can you.

The basic principle behind article marketing is getting more and more back links to your website. The other sites that link to your site should be more relevant and have an authority in the eyes of Google. This is where search engine optimization comes into play. You want your site ranking high for the keywords you have chosen. If you don't know how to do that, I recommend doing some research. Now I will talk about other possibilities to get one way links to your website. Again, do not forget that the more one way links you have pointing to your website, the higher in the search engines it will go. The best part about this is that you increase your page rank at the same time. You want as many back links as possible. With a top 10 listing in Google, your website will gain a lot of traffic. This is important for your business.

Other ways is to use social network sites. Register for a service such as OnlyWire and as you post to your blog, bookmark it using OnlyWire and it will create a back link to your post. MySpace and Facebook are also social websites which can be used. There are places where you can advertising and place links to your website.

Become active in the forums. Place a link to your site in your signature file. Every time you post your signature will be at the end of it. Therefore, the more participation, the more one way links you have going to your website.

Submit your website to web directories. There are literally thousands of directories on the internet. Do a search for them. Find the directories that have a higher PageRank than your website. This is important.

I hope now that you know the importance of getting as many back links to your website as you can and increasing your page rank. It is relatively easy to implement. Start small. Get more and more one way links over time. You can never have too many. In the end your website will be on the top 10 in Google for your keywords.
